René ter Horst and Gaston Steenkin aka Chocolate Puma return to Axtone for their 5th appearance on the label but, not for the first time, they deliver something fresh for the dancefloor.
Their most recent release on Axtone “Beyond The Sky’ saw the duo experimenting with AI for the vocals, however on “The Dawn”, the boys have dug into their past, exploring classic techno sounds, creating a melodic Instrumental that showcases their breadth of talent that should see an equally diverse spread of DJ support.
The duo have been working together since the early 90s under various guises, including The Good Men, Jark Prongo, and René et Gaston with ‘Give It Up’, ‘Moving Thru Your System’ and “Vallée De L’armes’ respective standout, timeless releases.
Their ultimate alias, Chocolate Puma started in the early 00s, launching with “I Wanna Be You” an international hit that charted at #6 in the UK Charts.
Over future decades they have released tracks like ‘Scrub The Ground’, ‘Lullaby’, ‘You Are My Life’ and ‘Step Back’ on different labels such as Defected, Positiva, FFRR, Strictly Rhythm, Spinnin’, Musical Freedom, Mixmash and Heldeep to name a few.
Standout releases on Axtone include “You Are My Life” and their acid-tinged remix of Hard Rock Sofa’s “Arrms Around Me” not forgetting their Carta collaboration “Zhong”
